Not Everyone Can See UFOs
The following little stories prove (at least to me) that Dr. Hynek's theory was correct. Dr. Hynek was once of our top UFO researchers, and at the Brazilian UFO Convention before his death in the 1980s, one of the most important facts he disclosed was that not everyone can see a UFO.
It's always been my opinion that people will see them only when they are ready to.
In the late 1970s, I was driving near the International Airport in South Philadelphia and was stopped at a 5-way intersection at a red-light on the Jersey side of the airport. I looked up and saw a chartreuse bullet-type thing with hot pink on the nose of it, with sparks and flames coming out the bottom. It was like a bullet or small rocket with wings and flames, and was moving about in the sky, not too far above the ground. I got out of my car to look at it better, and asked the people in the cars around me if they could see what I saw. Nobody else could see it. I held up traffic for a while, and if you know anything about South Philly, those people weren't going to stand for me holding up traffic for long, so I got back in the car and left.
I called the Planetarium in Philly after returning home. They took my name, address, asked a few questions and wouldn't admit that anyone else had called about it. I did the only thing I could do in this case, and that was to go to the Planetarium and get to talking with people there who watch the sky. At that tie I couldn't find anyone else who would admit reports were turned in about the little rocket. Several weeks later, news trickled down to me through friends and friends of friends who knew I had seen what I saw and who knew of my interests in such out-of-the-ordinary things. I finally talked with a few others who saw it exactly as I did~over South Philadelphia.
Another time, in the middle 1980s, my boyfriend, me and another couple went to a drive-in theatre in South Florida. Shortly after dusk, all of us saw a saucer-shaped UFO hovering to the left of the movie screen. It appeared to be only about 20 to 30 feet above the left corner of the screen, and from where we were in the middle of the grounds, it looked to be about 15 feet in diameter. All we could say was, "Wow!" I suggested we get out of the car and talk too others to find out if other people were also seeing it. None of those parked near us could see it. Most people seemed annoyed that we even asked them about it since we were interrupting their movie. The saucer continued to stay in its position during the time we covered almost half the parking lot and soon the movie was over and most of the cars left. However, the several people who stayed were standing outside their cars and looking up to the left of the screen. There were a handful of others who also saw it. I was so relieved.
In talking with these other people, we found that they were people who were interested in esoteric subjects and even UFOs. Of the dozen or so others we talked to, some had seen UFOs, and some had never seen them before, but all were metaphysically-minded and open to the subject.
As it turned out, all passengers in each car could se the UFO. That was probably because like-minded people hang out with others who think the same. Several others I talked to that night were also relieved that others had seen what they had, because some had been in the same position I was in before, like the case of the chartreuse bullet~nobody else had seen it but me at the time I saw it. It kind of makes you wonder if you really saw anything at all when it happens like that.
Now when I see something another person doesn't see, I just dismiss it as, "they're just not ready yet!"
If you don't know what being ready means, the following page will explain it: Where Do I Fit In?
